Kit Fox Cabin is conveniently located near both entrances to Joshua Tree National Park. The Joshua Tree National Park North Entrance in Twentynine Palms—home to the newer visitor center—is approximately 15 minutes (about 12 miles) from the cabin. The South (original) entrance is roughly 22 minutes (about 15 miles) away, offering easy access no matter how you choose to explore the park.

Yes. Kit Fox Cabin is accessible year-round via paved roads, with the final ¼ mile on a well-maintained dirt road. This section is easily navigable by all standard vehicles when driven slowly. As with most high desert locations, guests are encouraged to check local conditions during periods of extreme heat or rare winter weather and plan accordingly.
